THE CHALLENGE

The challenges faced by Weiss Datenverarbeitung GmbH (Austrosoft) revolve around the need to reduce the effort and costs associated with on-site visits for hardware maintenance and replacement. With their widespread network the current approach to hardware support is resource-intensive and costly. Additionally, there is a critical requirement to accelerate the onboarding process for new taxi dispatch customers to ensure swift integration and deployment of services. Furthermore, the timely rollout of software changes to customers is essential to optimize system performance and maintain competitiveness in the market. These challenges highlight the necessity for strategic interventions to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery for Austrosoft's extensive taxi dispatch system network.

THE SOLUTION

Auvaria undertook a comprehensive approach to address the challenges faced by Austrosoft, leveraging the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) to guide the migration process. Initially, Auvaria conducted a detailed assessment of Austrosoft's on-premises environment to evaluate the feasibility and benefits of migrating to the AWS cloud. This assessment involved analyzing the existing server inventory and architecture, culminating in a robust business case that highlighted significant financial advantages and operational benefits. Key outcomes included faster onboarding of customers through infrastructure-as-code practices, expedited procurement lifecycles, and reduced dependency on on-site support.

By preparing and aligning various workstreams to ensure a successful transition, Auvaria mobilized Austrosoft for the AWS migration. This mobilization effort included defining an optimal operating model for cloud workloads, establishing a secure and scalable baseline environment (Landing Zone) on AWS with comprehensive security and governance measures using AWS services like AWS Control Tower, AWS Config, AWS Security Hub, and Amazon GuardDuty. Additionally, migration planning workstreams were initiated to outline migration timelines and tooling requirements while conducting necessary training sessions to empower Austrosoft in managing their cloud environment effectively.

The successful migration of initial customers to AWS was executed meticulously. During this phase, Auvaria implemented AWS best practices to architect Austrosoft's cloud infrastructure, leveraging services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and Load Balancers to optimize performance and scalability. The deployment emphasized seamless integration and scalability, ensuring that Austrosoft could meet growing demands efficiently while upskilling their team on AWS technologies. This approach embodies Auvaria's commitment to delivering a robust, scalable, and future-proof cloud solution tailored to Austrosoft's unique needs.

THE RESULTS

Following the migration to AWS orchestrated by Auvaria, Austrosoft experienced transformative outcomes in their taxi dispatch software delivery and customer engagement strategies. By leveraging AWS cloud services, Austrosoft gained a cost-efficient solution that offered increased flexibility and service capabilities to their end customers while significantly reducing operational costs. The elimination of on-site hardware maintenance freed up valuable resources, allowing Austrosoft to redirect efforts towards enhancing their software offerings.

Moreover, the onboarding process for new customers and software updates became more streamlined, resulting in heightened customer satisfaction and improved operational efficiency. Austrosoft now seamlessly delivers their latest software versions to customers, ensuring they benefit from cutting-edge solutions without delay. This shift not only modernized Austrosoft's service delivery model but also facilitated a more agile and responsive approach to software management and customer support.

Through this strategic collaboration and migration to AWS, Auvaria enabled Austrosoft to embrace a new era of software delivery and customer service, positioning them for sustained growth and innovation within the competitive taxi dispatch market. This outcome underscores Auvaria's commitment to delivering tangible business outcomes through transformative cloud solutions tailored to meet Austrosoft's evolving needs and business objectives.
